Children's developmental furniture brand

It all started not with furniture, but with a question. For over twenty years, architect and interior designer Natalia Guseva has been designing private homes, apartments, and commercial interiors — and in almost every project, there was a child's room somewhere on the plan. Each was beautiful. Each was comfortable. And each, sooner or later, led to the same uncomfortable observation.

"Most of what is commonly called children's furniture is just adult furniture, smaller and in a different color. It helps store things. It decorates the interior. But it almost never helps the child develop."

This observation formed the basis of the MAMA brand — not just another collection for children's rooms, but a system where each item has its place because it genuinely helps the child grow. Not a desk, not a shelf, not a miniature copy of an adult bed — but a tool that makes the child a little more independent with each passing day.

But ideas gain real power when shared by like-minded people. A turning point in the development of the MAMA brand was Natalia Guseva's meeting with Anna Schmaukstele.

"It quickly became clear that we were looking in the same direction and speaking the same language. We were united by the belief that children's furniture should not only decorate the interior but also contribute to the child's development."

This led to the decision to combine our experience, knowledge, and passion to jointly create the European MAMA brand and open a new chapter - a chapter in which items are born that help children become more independent and families happier.

Today, MAMA is a European brand with its own registered trademark, dozens of proprietary designs, and a team of specialists united by a common philosophy. We continue to develop the ideas laid down by the brand's founder, remaining true to the principles that underpin every new product and every solution we create.

"How will this item help a child become a little more independent tomorrow than they are today?"

This question remains the main principle of the MAMA brand.

Furniture as a tool for child's personality development

We don't design objects. We design a growth environment.

A child's room is their first environment where their personality is formed. What surrounds a child every day influences them more quietly and deeply than words. That's why we create furniture that helps develop independence, concentration, a sense of security, and responsibility.

Our philosophy

MAMA's philosophy is based on the belief that a child develops not only thanks to parents, kindergarten, and school but also thanks to the surrounding environment. And good furniture does not dictate behavior but creates conditions for development and independent action. Five principles run through each item: safety, independence, developmental play, aesthetics, and durability.

Our principles

🟤 eco-friendliness and safe materials

🟡 durability

🔵 color as a development tool — the furniture color palette is designed with children's perception in mind

🔴 each item develops — every product has an inherent play and developmental potential

🟢 with our furniture, it's easy to keep the children's room tidy: many items are equipped with wheels, and smooth surfaces are easy to clean

Assemble = Love

MAMA furniture is designed so that a parent can easily assemble it themselves. For us, assembly is not a technical procedure, but a ritual of engagement. The parent becomes a co-creator of the space and builds it with their own hands. After all, love is action.
