Tips for Arranging Furniture in a Children's Room

Советы по расстановке мебели в детской комнате

How to arrange furniture in a child's room to make it comfortable and spacious? I'm sharing some practical tips from my experience.

1. Observe proportions. The size and quantity of furniture should match the room's dimensions. A huge wardrobe, a massive bed, or a desk taking up half the room won't look good in a small space. It's important to choose furniture that is proportionate to the room's parameters.

2. Don't buy furniture "to grow into." For a child who isn't yet in school, there's no point in putting in a desk or school desk for the future: these items are too big for the child and take up a lot of space. It's better to dedicate this space to play and provide a small child's table and chair for creative activities like drawing and sculpting.

3. Give up the wall bars. This is a piece of sports equipment that a child can only use with adults. In practice, children rarely use the wall bars by themselves — most often, they take up a lot of space and sit idle. There are other ways to develop agility and coordination.

4. Correct geometry with color. If the room has an irregular shape or is disproportionate in height and width, its proportions can be visually corrected using color, wallpaper, decor, and furniture.

And most importantly: a well-chosen color scheme can unite the incompatible. Even items of different styles can look cohesive with good color composition.
