Girls' bedroom for two

Girls can live together with an age difference of up to six years, provided they have similar routines. There are only advantages to such cohabitation: sisters learn to coexist, and it becomes easier for them to socialize later on.

Even if one of the sisters is a leader, there is no cause for concern. As my grandmother used to say, "What's done is done." (literally: "It will be ground into flour.")

The more impressionable child will learn to skillfully navigate conflict and acquire leadership skills themselves. Most importantly, with such close proximity to a leader, they will later be able to easily communicate with strong and vibrant individuals. The leader sister, in turn, will learn through experience that managing others is not easy: one must learn to negotiate, respect others' opinions, and take responsibility. There's no better training ground.

So, how do you create a harmonious space for two sisters?

• Personal space for each – their own bed, desk, shelves, hangers, and drawers. If possible, each should also have their own wardrobe.
• Common areas. A table for drawing and crafts can be shared if the girls are under seven years old – it's more fun to play together. And if they want to play separately, they'll learn to share and divide.
• Creative supplies – albums, brushes, pencils, paints – it's better for each to have their own. The same goes for toys and books. But some toys and books should definitely be shared.
• Storage. For personal belongings – separate shelves, drawers, boxes. For books, a shared cabinet is fine – and it doesn't matter that personal books for each are also stored there.

And a separate important point – decor. Each should have their own, reflecting their individual personality. For example, one sister loves animals: above her bed are photos of her favorite animals, animal-shaped pillows. And the other was born a princess – well, what can you do, it happens: she has a canopy bed, a crown on top, and all the princess attributes.

Your task is to reconcile all of this in terms of color, style, and design. It's not easy, of course, but entirely possible.
