Today I'm sharing ideas for decorating windows in a child's room for the New Year. They will help bring even more festive cheer into the room – especially if the child likes to sit by the window for a long time. Let's get inspired and decorate together.
- Christmas tree made of lights right on the window. Create a twinkling Christmas tree from a garland, and decorate it further if desired. The holiday is created both inside and out: you can go outside together and see how your little tree decorates the house from the street.
- Glowing jars. A very cozy idea is to place a garland inside a glass jar. The glass enhances the glow, creating magical lanterns that look like fireflies in a jar.
- Unbreakable ornaments. A great alternative to fragile glass toys for toddlers' rooms are ornaments made of cardboard, colored paper, or fabric. Choose bright festive colors: red, gold, spruce green, or your child's favorite colors.
- Garland of dried oranges or pinecones. An idea for older children: unlike toddlers, they don't put everything in their mouths and can help you assemble it. Complement the composition with spruce branches – hang them securely above the window or arrange them on the windowsill.
- Window decals. A simple method that little ones especially love (and older kids are delighted with too).
- Frosty drawings. A task for older children – they enjoy trying new techniques. Such drawings are made with toothpaste, powdered sugar, and even Epsom salt, which beautifully crystallizes on glass.
And about safety. Use battery-powered garlands: they have low voltage (only 3–12 V) compared to 220 V from mains. Even if a child touches a wire or tries to disassemble something, the risk of electric shock is minimal.
