A small apartment is not a sentence. Even in a 40 m² space, you can carve out a "little world" for your child, where they will feel like the master. Here are a few tricks:
- Mini-zoning. Even a rug or a screen can mark the boundary of "this is my territory." This gives the child a sense of control over the space.
- Modular furniture. Rolling storage bins, transforming tables that are easy to move — the child decides how to arrange their play.
- Vertical zones. Shelf-houses, hanging swings, bunk beds: a sleeping area upstairs, and a play zone downstairs — or vice versa, with the top dedicated to a playhouse.
- Seclusion corner. A tent, a teepee, or simply a curtain between a wardrobe and the wall — a place where adults "don't interfere."
The main thing is to give the child the right to change the space to suit their needs. Even if the apartment is small, freedom begins with trust.
