When a child chooses a blue blanket, a yellow pillow, or draws with green, they are not just playing with colors – they are speaking the language of emotions.
Young children cannot always express what is on their minds in words. But they are excellent at speaking through color:
- Blue (and all its shades) — a need for peace and security. Often chosen by dreamers and anxious children.
- Red (and all its shades) — children full of energy and eager to be heard.
- Green (and all its shades) — a desire for balance, a search for support.
- Yellow — joy, openness, a desire for attention.
- Dark shades — not always "bad." Often an attempt to hide or feel boundaries.
- Multicolor — creativity and experimentation, sometimes — emotional instability.
The main thing is to observe, not to forbid. Color is a mirror, not a diagnosis. And sometimes a change in a favorite color is a signal for a conversation: "What are you feeling right now?"
