The future of children's interiors lies in individuality

Будущее детских интерьеров — за индивидуальностью

Today I want to talk about designing children's interiors.

Most experienced designers and architects, when designing a child's room, eventually present the client with a room featuring a stylish color scheme: the functionality is well thought out, the furniture is high-quality, and technological solutions are integrated – all of this is excellent.

But behind all these qualities, 99% of designers lose sight of the most important thing – they don't adapt them to the child's true needs. As a result, we see a huge number of identical twin interiors on the market, created for completely different children. The picture, to be honest, is rather sad.

Look at such rooms and consider: how do they affect children? How do they shape them, what do they teach them, do they foster development? How do they impact their emotional state, do they help the child express and live out their individuality?

I see the future of children's interiors in basing them on child psychology and ergonomics. For the designer to study the child themselves first and foremost – through communication with parents: what is their character and temperament, what do they love to do, do they attend kindergarten, school, clubs, are they sociable – and hundreds of other parameters.

And if we put all of this together, like a large construction set, we can create a truly high-quality environment for the child – like fertile soil for a beautiful flower. Such a room harmonizes emotional states, gently corrects undesirable behavior, develops and teaches important skills, stimulates creativity and learning.

And I'll be honest: there are very few people working this way in this niche yet – but there is demand from parents. If someone had offered me to create such a room for my children when they were little, I would have agreed without hesitation.

The topic of individualized children's interiors is something I am genuinely passionate about. And I really want to share this knowledge, which I have gathered piece by piece and honed through my own experience with my clients.
