Did you know that you can make a New Year's advent calendar with your own hands?
An advent calendar is usually made in the form of a box with windows, each containing a small gift. A child opens one window a day, and every day they have a small reason for joy. This is a wonderful way to create an atmosphere of wonder in anticipation of the holiday - and also a beautiful decoration for the interior.
Of course, ready-made advent calendars are sold in stores. But I suggest going further and making one yourself - or even better, with your child. The contents are up to you. Here are some ideas for inspiration:
- From Christmas socks. A bright calendar decorated with ribbons, tinsel, and lights. You probably can't stretch this for a whole month, but for a week and a half before the holiday - it's a great idea. Put small gifts in the socks and every evening, under the lights of the Christmas tree, arrange the ritual of "getting" them out.
- Cardboard house with windows. You can make it from boxes or cups, cardboard and colored paper - as far as your imagination takes you. Such an endeavor develops fine motor skills, imagination, and ingenuity. And you can decorate the house with cones and spruce branches.
- Garland of envelopes. Find colorful envelopes, decorate them for the holiday, and hang them on a string - you'll get a Christmas garland with space for small gifts.

Children remember such small daily magic for a long time - how for a whole week or month they received gifts from their beloved parents every day.
